Plexus Spectral Dynamics

Release notes — what’s new, what’s fixed, what changed.

0.4.19

18 September 2026

Changed

  • DUCK and FILTER now sit at the far left of every channel row
  • the sidechain row uses matching FILTER and ATTACK shortcuts so every analyser shares the same width
  • the meter bank and UNLINK, PAIRS and ALL selector labels are centred more precisely

The immersive interface grid is now easier to scan without changing the audio engine.

0.4.17

17 September 2026

Changed

  • spectral ducking, filtering and limiter bookkeeping now use less CPU on wide stems
  • TP MAX reconstruction sleeps while the editor is closed; true-peak limiting and fixed latency remain active

A substantial processing optimisation for large immersive sessions, with the audible result preserved.

0.4.15

16 September 2026

New

  • online and offline activation through the Kaizen Audio account
  • the final Plexus Spectral Dynamics interface, logo and status footer

Changed

  • the ducker now keeps fast onset control while stabilising spectral movement across lows, mids and highs

Plexus gains its final product identity, Moonbase licensing and a more stable, frequency-aware ducker response.

0.4.12

16 September 2026

Fixed

  • turning the limiter off now remains transparent on very hot floating-point buses while keeping timing unchanged
  • switching between UNLINK, PAIRS and ALL no longer causes gain jumps, and the saved ceiling is active immediately when a session opens
  • sessions saved before v0.4.9 now retain the audible ducker attack and release timing they were created with

Changed

  • TP MAX now follows reconstructed output peaks more accurately
  • the sidechain spectrum now displays key levels on the correct scale

Filters, ducking, bass management and true-peak protection now share the same multichannel workflow from mono to immersive formats.

0.4.11

1 September 2026

Fixed

  • the channel selection was lost every time the plug-in window was closed — it is now saved with the session (FRONTS by default)
  • the sidechain gain knob was squashed under its labels on short layouts, and now sits in the right-hand column beside mute / solo / listen

Changed

  • the sidechain lane draws the ducker’s 32 bands in off-white rather than the reduction colour, so you can read which bands are leading without it suggesting the sidechain itself is being ducked

0.4.10

31 August 2026

Fixed

  • the ducker reacted slowly to real programme material however fast the attack was set — it now reaches its depth in a few milliseconds instead of around a hundred

Changed

  • the ducker’s spectral shape is held while it releases, so the release time you set is the release you hear Note: at the same knob positions the ducker now works a little deeper and much faster, so existing settings are worth revisiting

0.4.9

31 August 2026

New

  • the sidechain filter now filters the key signal itself, with its own selectable 6 / 12 / 24 dB per octave slope

Fixed

  • on the sidechain page the high-pass was mislabelled when bass management was active, and the key gain knob had no caption

Changed

  • ducker attack and release are now set in milliseconds — attack 0.1–300 ms, release 5–3000 ms
  • fast attacks are genuinely fast (the per-band smoothing now follows the attack instead of sitting at a fixed floor)

0.4.8

31 August 2026

New

  • gain-reduction metering on the Pro Tools insert
  • ctrl+cmd+click on a control opens its automation lane in Pro Tools

Fixed

  • long channel names no longer wrap onto a second line

Changed

  • graphics stay fluid on wide layouts such as 7.1.4

0.4.6–0.4.7

24 August 2026

Changed

  • CPU usage roughly halved — the analysers now run only while the window is open
  • plug-in latency reduced to 159 samples at 48 kHz, fixed and independent of which modules are enabled
  • bass management owns the channel’s filter edge, so nothing is filtered twice, and the LFE draws its own low-pass branch

0.3.0–0.4.5

23 August 2026

New

  • ambisonic support up to 3rd order (ACN/SN3D), with linking forced to ALL
  • mute, solo and listen per channel, and channel selection groups
  • settings page — film channel order, optional lane meters, analyser floor

Changed

  • compact knob-based channel panel with FILTER / DUCK / OUT modules
