0.7.16

10 September 2026

Fixed

  • The input meter now stays alive when AXIS is inserted on a stereo track, so it no longer looks inactive while the host is still presenting a two-channel bus.

Changed

  • The DAW workflow is now explicit: in Nuendo, place stereo material on a surround track and insert AXIS there; in Logic and Pro Tools, insert it on a stereo track and choose the required output variant.

0.7.15

10 September 2026

Changed

  • OUT FORMAT, in the VST3 and the Audio Unit, now shows only the formats your bus can be, with the one in force already selected — a 10-channel bus offers 5.1.4 and 7.1.2 and nothing else. On a width that can only be one format the menu disappears, because there is nothing to choose. There is no “AUTO” item any more: picking the format the bus already reports IS auto, so a choice never freezes if the host later labels the track correctly.

0.7.14

7 September 2026

Fixed

  • AXIS did not appear in Logic’s insert menu. Logic caches a plug-in’s channel capabilities very aggressively and revalidates without re-reading them, so it kept using an old record. Insert AXIS on a stereo track and pick the “Stereo → 5.1.4” style variant; a surround track will not list it, because the upmixer’s input is stereo by design.

0.7.13

6 September 2026

New

  • OUT FORMAT selector in VST3 and AU, for when the host cannot say which format a bus is.
  • 5.0 and 7.0 outputs (no subwoofer), with the LFE controls greyed out.

Fixed

  • Reaper always loaded AXIS as 5.1 whatever the track’s channel count. Reported by Roger Kotz, open since May. Reaper hands buses over without speaker names and probes with symmetric pairs; AXIS now accepts them and reads the track properly — 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 channels all open.
  • Channel order on anonymous buses. From 7.1.4 up, a bus with no speaker names arrives in the flat SMPTE/Dolby order while the plug-in works in a different internal one, which put the rear surrounds where the front heights go. Named buses were never affected, and neither was Pro Tools.

0.7.12

30 August 2026

Fixed

  • Ctrl+Cmd-click on a control now opens its automation lane in Pro Tools, as it should. The plug-in was never telling Pro Tools which control you were clicking. Works on the knobs, on their number boxes, on the engine buttons and on the mixer faders. Nuendo and Cubase get the AI Knob working for free.

0.7.11

11 August 2026

Changed

  • your presets now live in Documents / Kaizen Audio / AXIS Upmixer Presets, next to the other Kaizen Audio programs Existing presets are moved there automatically the first time you open the plug-in — dates kept, nothing overwritten, nothing to do on your side

0.7.9–0.7.10

9 August 2026

New

  • 5.0 and 7.0 outputs (surround without subwoofer) — the LFE controls grey out when the format has no sub. Pro Tools lists them as native stems (Stereo → 5.0 and Stereo → 7.0); in the VST3 and the Audio Unit they appear in Nuendo, Logic and Studio One

Fixed

  • the LFE meter under the radar was nearly invisible with real programme material

0.7.8

20 July 2026

Fixed

  • rare random deactivations while a valid license was active (license state is now sticky for the whole session)

Changed

  • licensing checks fully removed from the audio and plug-in insertion paths (host stability)

0.7.7

6 July 2026

Fixed

  • update notification could appear hidden behind the meters

Changed

  • installer redesign (readme, license, artwork)

0.7.5–0.7.6

5 July 2026

New

  • installer cleans up legacy AU copies from previous versions

Fixed

  • external stereo fold-down (ITU downmix) now nulls perfectly against the source — Downmix Lock verified at −154 dB
  • overall output level corrected (−1.12 dB, synthesis window)
  • Audio Unit was invisible to Logic Pro (component now installs at the root of Components/)

0.7.0–0.7.4

3 July 2026

Changed

  • DSP engine CPU usage roughly halved (measured ~10 % → ~5 % in Pro Tools)
  • real-time safety on the audio thread (no allocations, worker threads at audio priority)
  • UI meters stay fluid under heavy host load; scope overlay is now GPU-rendered
  • GPU load halved on ProMotion (120 Hz) displays Renamed: shelf controls now state their target — SURR HF (surrounds), HEIGHT LF (ceiling)

0.6.16–0.6.26

22 June 2026

New

  • ceiling low-shelf (HEIGHT LF FREQ / GAIN) replaces HEIGHT TILT

Changed

  • SETTING tab redesign; FILM channel order by default
  • UI responsiveness in heavy sessions

0.6.13–0.6.14

7 June 2026

Fixed

  • weak / empty centre channel — dialogue and mono content anchor to the centre speaker again

Changed

  • single CENTER knob replaces DIVERGENCE and CENTER SEPARATION

0.6.0

24 April 2026

Changed

  • First public beta! AAX / VST3 / AU formats with Kaizen Audio online licensing
